
Continuous Fiberglass Pipe Winding Machine
Working Principle
The mold assembly, composed of aluminum beams, aluminum beam fixing discs, steel belt circulation outlet heads, steel belt circulation heads, and a closed-loop steel belt, is installed on the main drive unit of the winding machine. As the main drive rotates the mold, the steel belt winds around the aluminum beams that are uniformly distributed around the fixing disc. Simultaneously, the steel belt propulsion system advances the belt axially along the winding spindle, moving it forward by one belt width with each full rotation of the spindle.
When the steel belt reaches the end of the aluminum beams in the axial direction, it enters the circulation outlet head and circulation head, then gets guided into the hollow spindle of the main drive unit. Through the belt guiding mechanism, it returns to the starting point of the winding process. This creates a continuous cycle of winding, advancing, exiting, entering, and rewinding.
During this cyclic motion
1. A layer of polyester film and surface mat are wound onto the steel belt
2. The liner resin application device and structural resin application device deposit controlled amounts of resin
3. The liner and structural chopped strand devices distribute precise quantities of chopped fibers
4. The sand feeding unit applies quartz sand
5. The winding creel supplies circumferential fiber strands
The circumferential fibers, chopped strands, resin, and quartz sand are thoroughly mixed and impregnated under the pressure rollers. The composite material then advances axially into the infrared heating zone for curing while continuing its forward movement. Upon exiting the steel belt mold, the hydraulic lifting platform sequentially raises support rollers to receive the cured pipe.
When the pipe reaches the required length, the online cutting and trimming system activates to finish the product. All material quantities - including chopped strands for liner/structural layers, winding strands, quartz sand, and resin - are pre-set and PLC-controlled. The system also maintains precise PLC regulation of resin and quartz sand temperatures throughout the process.
